COVID-19: Argentine Authorities relaxed sanitary requirements to enter the country

Argentine Authorities, through Administrative Decision Nr. 837/2022, valid from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette dated August 26th,2022  have relaxed the sanitary requirements for carriers and crew-members to enter the national territory.

Accordingly, non-resident foreign carriers and crew members shall neither need a PCR or antigens tests with negative result, nor a special COVID-19 health insurance, nor a sworn statement of health condition to enter the country; and there will be no temperature controls, and complete vaccination schemes will not be required.

According to the latest sanitary regulations, the “Free Pratique” of international ships issued remotely according to the INTERNATIONAL HEALTH REGULATIONS (IHR, 2005) approved by the 58th WORLD HEALTH ASSEMBLY, shall be admitted by Argentine Authorities.

It was also stated that in case of notifications of Covid-19 cases onboard, the same measures for the prevention and control of acute respiratory infections, as stated in the document titled “STRATEGY FOR THE SURVEILLANCE AND INTEGRAL CONTROL OF COVID-19 AND OTHER ACUTE RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS”  issued by the Argentine MINISTRY OF HEALTH, and provided by the International Health Regulations (2005), shall be followed.

As this is a matter in constant change, and sanitary authorities may adopt new measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 infections, it should be warned that the information provided herein needs to be verified and confirmed regularly.
